From there, travel into the legendary Serengeti, where vast savannah plains provide opportunities to encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs, hyenas, and potentially leopards.
Continue to Lake Manyara for a completely different ecosystem before finishing your safari with an unforgettable game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Karatu
Your family safari begins in Arusha, where you will meet your professional safari guide and begin your journey toward Tarangire National Park.
After entering the park, enjoy your first game drive through a landscape famous for its giant baobab trees, open grasslands, seasonal swamps, and large elephant populations.
Your children can enjoy spotting animals from the safari vehicle while your guide explains interesting facts about Tanzania’s wildlife in an engaging and easy-to-understand way.
Look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, impalas, monkeys and numerous bird species.
After your game drive, continue to your family-friendly lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Karatu – Serengeti National Park – Central Serengeti
After breakfast, begin your journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park.
The drive takes you through the beautiful landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before reaching the Serengeti plains. As you enter the park, your safari officially begins in one of Africa’s most famous wildlife ecosystems.
Enjoy a game drive as you make your way toward your accommodation. The Serengeti is home to enormous populations of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles, which in turn attract some of Africa’s most impressive predators.
Look out for lions resting beneath trees, cheetahs scanning the plains and, with luck, leopards hidden in woodland areas.
Depending on the season and wildlife movements, you may also encounter parts of the Great Migration.
Enjoy a picnic lunch or lodge lunch before continuing your afternoon game drive.
Later, arrive at your camp or lodge in the Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full-Day Serengeti National Park Safari
Today is dedicated to exploring the magnificent Serengeti.
After breakfast, head out on a full-day game drive with your private safari guide. The Serengeti is famous for its vast landscapes and exceptional wildlife, giving your family plenty of opportunities to observe animals in their natural environment.
Depending on the season and where wildlife is concentrated, you may encounter large herds of wildebeest and zebra, lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hyenas, hippos and numerous bird species.
Your guide can adjust the pace of the day according to your family’s interests and energy levels.
Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day before continuing your game drive.
Return to your accommodation in the late afternoon for relaxation and another memorable evening in the Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti – Lake Manyara National Park
Wake up early and enjoy a final Serengeti game drive as you begin your journey out of the park.
After breakfast or a morning game drive, depart toward Lake Manyara National Park.
Lake Manyara offers a completely different landscape from the Serengeti, with groundwater forests, open woodland, grasslands, and the lake itself.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive where you may see elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, baboons, hippos, and numerous bird species.
Lake Manyara is also known for its scenic landscapes and diverse birdlife, making it an enjoyable stop for families and photographers.
After the game drive, continue to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, leave Lake Manyara and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Upon arrival, descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting family game drive.
The crater is home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife. Your family may see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, gazelles, and other animals.
There is also a possibility of seeing the endangered black rhinoceros, although wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before continuing with your game drive.
In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Ngorongoro – Arusha
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your accommodation before beginning your journey back to Arusha.

Arrive in Arusha in the afternoon, marking the end of your memorable 6-Day Family Tanzania Safari.
