Begin your adventure among the giant elephants and ancient baobabs of Tarangire before continuing to the endless plains of the Serengeti. Spend two nights exploring this world-famous ecosystem, where large herds of wildebeest and zebra support thriving populations of predators.
Your final adventure takes you into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, where an extraordinary concentration of wildlife creates one of Tanzania’s most rewarding game-viewing experiences.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Karatu
Your Big Five adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha.
Meet your professional safari guide, receive a short briefing and drive toward Tarangire National Park.
Known for its enormous elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and diverse wildlife, Tarangire provides an exciting introduction to Tanzania’s wilderness.
Begin your game drive after entering the park. Explore open grasslands, acacia woodland and areas surrounding the Tarangire River.
Keep watch for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas and warthogs. Lions are also regularly encountered, while leopards and other predators may be spotted with luck.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before continuing your afternoon game drive.
Later, leave Tarangire and travel toward Karatu or the Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Karatu – Serengeti National Park – Central Serengeti
After breakfast, begin your journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park.
The drive takes you through the beautiful landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before reaching the Serengeti plains. As you enter the park, your safari officially begins in one of Africa’s most famous wildlife ecosystems.
Enjoy a game drive as you make your way toward your accommodation. The Serengeti is home to enormous populations of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles, which in turn attract some of Africa’s most impressive predators.
Look out for lions resting beneath trees, cheetahs scanning the plains and, with luck, leopards hidden in woodland areas.
Depending on the season and wildlife movements, you may also encounter parts of the Great Migration.
Enjoy a picnic lunch or lodge lunch before continuing your afternoon game drive.
Later, arrive at your camp or lodge in the Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full-Day Serengeti Big Five Safari
Today is dedicated entirely to the Serengeti.
Rise early and head out for a full-day game drive with your private safari guide.
The morning hours provide excellent opportunities to observe predators as they become active.
Search the plains for lions, cheetahs and hyenas. Carefully scan trees and rocky kopjes for leopards.
Large herds of wildebeest and zebra may also be encountered, together with elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, gazelles and other plains game.
Depending on the season, you may also encounter the spectacular Great Migration.
Your guide will select the day’s route based on recent wildlife sightings and your interests.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your afternoon game drive.
As the day comes to an end, return to your accommodation and enjoy dinner beneath the African sky.

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Wake early for another exciting Serengeti game drive.
Use the cool morning hours to search for predators and other wildlife before leaving the park.
Depending on your route and wildlife activity, you may enjoy additional game viewing as you travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The landscape gradually changes as you leave the Serengeti plains and approach the volcanic highlands.
Arrive at your lodge or camp near Ngorongoro and enjoy time to relax.
Take in the spectacular views, enjoy the lodge facilities and prepare for tomorrow’s crater adventure.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
Wake early and prepare for the final major highlight of your Big Five safari.
After breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive.
The crater floor supports a remarkable concentration of wildlife, creating excellent opportunities to search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other large mammals.
Keep a close eye on open grasslands for the endangered black rhino. Rhino sightings are never guaranteed, but Ngorongoro is one of the key places in Tanzania to look for them.
You may also encounter hippos, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, gazelles and other wildlife.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before continuing your final game drive.
Later, ascend from the crater and begin your journey back to Arusha.
Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your 5-Day Tanzania Big Five Safari Adventure.
